A great video for beginners which shows an extremely simple aquaponic system, built mainly from 5 gallon buckets. Even if you end up building something else, this model neatly displays the importance that height plays in the relationships between the various components of your setup.

Glenn, great video. I was wondering if the siphon from the bucket without any cinder would have enough power to pull the water through if you connected it to as you mentioned 20 buckets? Maybe you would have to increase the size of the pipe that connects between the buckets? Thanks.
The final siphon should sized to handle the flow of the system.
Normally 1 inch for up to 100 gallon dump….then up to 4 inch when I am draining 1000 gallon or more.
